Who is this course intended for?
This is Post Graduate/ Advanced Professional Development for Fully Qualified Reflexology Practitioners. From newly qualified to those with years of experience, this course offers the opportunity to expand your knowledge, deepen your confidence, and provide an extra level of therapeutic focus to your work in supporting your clients with symptoms related to specific diseases and disorders. Layering on to the learning and experience you have already gained through your study, and reflexology work.
The aim of this training course:
To develop advanced knowledge and understanding of disease processes and disorders affecting the body systems, and to apply this knowledge safely and effectively within reflexology practice. This course will guide you to analyse pathophysiology, recognise signs and symptoms, understand medical management approaches, identify reflexology considerations, including what may be observed or palpated on the feet, hands or ears for particular diseases or disorders, and formulate appropriate reflexology support plans.
On completion of this training, the practitioner will be able to:
Knowledge

Analyse the structure and function of the major body systems in relation to health and disease.

Explain the pathophysiology of common diseases and disorders affecting each body system.

Differentiate between signs, symptoms, causes, risk factors and complications of selected diseases.

Discuss conventional medical approaches used in the management of disease.
Clinical Application
5. Evaluate reflexology considerations, precautions and contraindications associated with specific diseases and disorders.
6. Identify potential observations and palpatory findings on the feet, hands and ears relevant to selected health conditions.
7. Design appropriate reflexology support plans for clients presenting with common diseases and disorders.
Professional Practice
8. Communicate disease-related information using appropriate medical terminology.
9. Critically evaluate the role of reflexology as a supportive therapy within integrated healthcare settings.
